Sometimes I’m like, “Fuck! This didn’t go as planned at all. What now?”
And then I’m like, “What do you mean what now? Now you just keep going.”
You know the feeling?
The article you thought was pretty great got 3 views.
The e-mail you thought your audience would love gets a ridiculous open rate and leads to a few unsubscribers.
You make an account in a new platform where everyone makes thousands of dollars, and yet you make nada.
You worked hard on an ebook or a course, and nothing.
The popular response to failure is, “What do I need to change?”
But here’s something only experience can teach you: if you’ve set up everything right from the beginning, don’t change a thing.
Poker Strategy.
I have a few friends who make millions playing poker. They told me once you have a winning strategy, you stick to it. Even if it’s the best strategy in the world, you’ll lose a few hands. Doesn’t matter. Stick to the strategy.
Same with content creation.
If you’ve done everything right, including:
You know what you’re about
You know your target audience and their dreams and problems
You’ve chosen your marketing strategy
You’re creating solutions of high quality, whatever that means for you
Then, you don’t need to change anything, even if you lose a few hands.
Confident creators know it just takes time and bazillion reps.
You get up and do the exact same thing.
You send out the same type of email. You write the same type of article.
You do it because the more you create, the higher the chances of your ideal audience finding you.
It’s not clients who are difficult to find. You’re difficult to find.
Keep doing the work.
Someone said on X recently…
“I like ripped people because I know their mindset.”
A ripped body is one of the things you can’t hack. You can’t buy. You can only work your way through it. Same with a happy family.
It’s about being there, doing what needs to be done every day, like it or not.
And sometimes it’s like fuck. You give it your best, and it’s not working.
Here’s a secret: it is working. You’re just not seeing it yet.
Sending you patience and perseverance,
Maya
