Some people are SO GOOD at sales, they can sell a fridge in the North Pole.
But most of us struggle with sales. Some even hate “selling.”
Of course, you don’t really hate selling. You hate pushing.
And people hate being pushed, too.
So how do we avoid pushing and close easy sales?
One of the ways is to know what people do when they’re ready to buy.
In SemRush, one of the leading SEO platforms, every keyword you research comes with “intent”.
Based on a complex algorithm, the platform tells you what people who search for this word want to do:
Get information
Purchase
Pretty cool, right?
When you talk to people who want to buy, you don’t need to push.
You’re expected to sell.
That’s exactly what happens on Fiverr.
People go on Fiverr to buy a service.
And the days when they buy the $5 service are long gone. No one wants to waste their time with a bad service provider.
Now, you may not be ready to command $200 charges right away, but you can do $20-$100 for a productized service you can easily deliver in 30-40 min.
Isn’t that enough for writing one website page of up to 500 words on a topic you know??
It should be enough even with the basic research.
If you have 20 Fiverr orders this month at $20 per order, you made $400.
If you have 20 Fiverr orders at $100 per order, you made $2000.
Not too shabby, yeah?
Sure, you can and should keep growing your Substack audience. But it will take you a while to make this kind of money on Substack per month, and you know it.
Because the intent of most Substackers is different.
No wonder we can monetize just 2-10% of our audiences.
Fiverr, on the other hand, is designed to monetize 90-100% of its visitors, and it does a good job at it.
If you’ve considered working with clients, but you don’t have the know-how yet to reel in the big fish…

So, so true. I've had great success on Fiverr (projects of $2500+) and yes, it's WAY easier to sell because people are actually there to buy. There are so many platforms like this and I totally agree, people need to be there AND on a writing-platform (like Substack) to grow. That 'intent'...key! Wishing you well with your course, I've been looking at the 'stage 2' option.
