A funny thing happens after you taste a little success.
You begin to search for what’s next: a new strategy, a new offer, a new audience.
Because somewhere along the way, we bought into this idea that growth comes from expansion. From doing more.
It makes sense to our brains to do more. We’ve been trained this way: you serve more tables, you get a bigger tip.
Let me flip that: what if you serve fewer tables in an absolutely jaw-dropping way?
Real growth comes from doing the same, better.
It’s not that new ideas are bad.
It’s that most of the time, they’re just a distraction.
Because better isn’t sexy. Better isn’t exciting.
Better is usually quiet, repetitive, and honestly, kind of boring.
But it works.
The solopreneurs who win take what’s working and sharpen it. They find the edge and push a little deeper.
They still do “new” but the new is just a part of the old, or an extension of the old.
Think of it like this: you solved 20% of someone’s problem. What about the other 80%?
Why we do new things
It’s easier to start something new than it is to commit to making something better. It’s easier to add a new platform to your marketing efforts, or create an entirely new product.
New is a dopamine hit that dies away. Better compounds.
Better builds trust.
Better builds skill.
Better builds results.
But what does better mean for you?
It depends on your business model.
If you sell content, make it more interesting to your audience.
If you sell services, make them better for your clients.
If you sell products, make the products better, or make them feel better.
Keep in mind better could be completely irrational. Look for weird things people want, not just for logic.
Do less.
Do it better.
Do it again.
Till next time,
Maya
Very good to be reminded of this.....Less is more!
This is a fantastic message I needed today. Thanks, Maya!
