Thanks for the inspiration. I would like to know why you have not mentioned Upwork in your article. Fiverr is fabulous but, I have heard that Upwork is even better, so, I'm curious to know from an expert like you. Thanks again!

Hi Meera, I've worked on Upwork too. In the beginning, I worked on both platforms and I did well on Upwork, I think I made $20-$30K before I paused my account.

The thing with Upwork is that the process is reversed. Instead of clients buying your packages directly (as with Fiverr), you have to go and apply for clients' projects and adjust to each client's needs. That makes things even more difficult to scale + a lot of my time went into interviews and meetings. Even though I usually got the jobs I intervewed for, and I priced myself above the average, I still struggled to make as much money as I was making on Fiverr literally on "auto-pilot". It didn't make sense for me to keep going there, so I stopped. Upwork actually caught on to that and now, Upwork freelancers offer packages--meaning productized services, the way Fiverr is done--but I'm not sure how well they work. I do think Fiverr is much easier to scale--you build your process and people follow that, instead of expecting you to adjust to their processes.

I hope that's helpful & if you're looking to start selling on Fiverr, stay tuned for the Friday launch <3

Super interesting read!

I’m transitioning between stages 2 and 3. In my case, the high-value ticket is public speaking. Companies are willing to pay 2,500$+ for a webinar but once you build a make, the figure can easily 3X.

I try to stay away from one-to-one programs because they are not scalable.

I did invest in a cool-looking website and professional pictures but 99% of my leads come from LinkedIn.

Your post made me think about my own stage.

Interesting view. I skipped selling services. I started from a blog getting SEO traffic and selling infoproducts and affiliate products.

In my second project I also sold services, instead. You can mix and match, depending on the niche.

Cool issue! I’m between stage 2 and 3 right now. There’s a bunch of initiatives I’d need to launch to get out of that stage 2 and fully into stage 3.

What about you? How’s your transition going?
