Start writing a minimum of 4 articles per week on Medium. Forget about the niches and choose a broad topic you like: personal growth, entrepreneurship, writing, health, relationships. You can even choose more than one topic in the beginning and see what your audience responds to.

Publish your writing. Submit it to Medium publications. Look at the feedback (some articles will do much better than others).

Also, start a Substack. Invite readers from Medium to join your Substack newsletter. Send a newsletter once a week.

The sheer volume of all that writing + the fact that you'll be getting feedback on your writing (even if that feedback is getting no traction at all) will give you data to start iterating and getting better.

It will take a while, but if you're serious about this, it will work.

If you need quick money, it's a good idea to join a platform like Fiverr and get a few freelance writing clients.

Also, if you're an introvert and don't want to show your face so much in your online business, you can read more about "faceless online businesses"--a lot of people make a lot of money this way.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to help.

Medium can work for authors anywhere. I'm in Easter Europe and I've been making money writing on Medium for years now. The only thing is, the Medium Partner Program doesn't support other languages. If you write in English, though, Medium offers excellent opportunities, and especially to beginners.
